frequently asked questions

How many images to I get?

No images are included with the session fees. At the end of your session we will review the images together, several times, to narrow the lot down to only the very best for you. Immediately following you will be given the opportunity to buy as many images as you wish. Retouched images are $75 each and they are delivered using a password-protected gallery where the images will be made available for download.

What is the turnaround time for image delivery?

Retouching takes 7-10 days after selection. If time is of the essence and you needed you headshot(s) or portrait(s) yesterday. Next-Day retouching is an additional $65 per image.

How long is the session?

We will work together as long as it takes to get images you want for whatever it is you are using them. Some sessions are long, and some are short, but most headshot sessions last around 1-2 hours. I book a very limited amount a sessions each day and do not put a time limit on our session because I do not want our time together to feel rushed. What I don’t want is to stress you out and give you performance-anxiety because we have a couple of minutes left before the next session and we still haven’t nailed the perfect images of you. It is extremely important to me that you leave with the best photographs of yourself that you have ever had taken.

Do I need a makeup artist?

It is not a requirement, but it is highly recommended for female clients. The makeup artist will apply the makeup for the lights that I use and differs from standard, every-day makeup.

I don’t recommend the Men wear makeup for their headshot session. However, if you need some grooming assistance or anything else in this department, just ask!

The makeup artist add-on service is $200 per person and it must be paid in cash directly to the makeup artist the day of your session.

What should I wear?

It is recommended that you bring a variety of necklines and colors to choose from. My golden rule for clothing is that you have to love it. If you’re on the fence about anything, bring it with you so we can look at it together.

If your headshot is being used for business/LinkedIn purposes it is recommended that you dress the part.

Try not to be seasonal with your choices, everything is fair game in a headshot or portrait. Stay away from stripes and busy patterns and prints. Small pieces of jewelry like studs are okay, but large, chunky pieces will distract from your face and are not a good idea for a portrait or headshot.

If you need to go shopping for your session, we’ll just leave the tags on in case you’d like to return any of the items after your shoot.

What about hair?

It is recommended that you wear your hair the way you normally would in public. I recommend some light reading and a little practice so you can get the most out of your new headshot investment.

If you plan on a hair cut or trim do it about a week in advance of your scheduled session. This gives the follicles time to relax and grow a little to look more natural.

For Men, don’t overthink it. Just wear it like you normally would to a meeting, a date or a night out. Just like clothing and jewelry, anything that distracts from your face is not going to be a very good idea.

For facial hair, keep it neatly trimmed. If you’re not sure whether you want images with facial hair, just leave it alone because we can always trim it or shave it off during your session. Just bring your favorite shaving/grooming tools to shave, trim or tame the beast.
